WeVideo is a powerful, easy-to-use cloud-based program for creating and editing videos. In this hands-on course participants will learn video editing tools and creative techniques needed to create their own videos using WeVideo editing software.

 

The course will provide learners with tools to create videos using text, voiced narration or song, illustrated with photographs and art, and supported with music and/or other sounds.  Learners will have access to their own paid WeVideo account for the duration of the course to practice editing on their own.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

• Community not-for-profit organizations including faith groups seeking to present stories about their life and work in video format;

• Individuals interested in creating videos with  text, poems, scripture or song; 

• Anyone interested in learning to use WeVideo online video editing software.

Instructor: Robert Miller is an experienced digital video editing trainer, amateur photographer and workshop facilitator.

COURSE CONTENT

• WeVideo basics

• Importing video, images and audio files to use in creating a video

• Sources of royalty-free and public domain music, photographs and images

• Recording voiced narration, music and video

• Preparing a rough cut of the video on audio and video tracks

• Editing audio tracks

• Editing and animating images including collage, split-screen, Ken Burns effect, etc.

• Adding and editing text (titles, credits, captions)

• Exporting and downloading completed videos

REQUIREMENTS

Desktop, laptop or larger tablet computer with stable broadband internet access;  Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Opera 15+ or Microsoft Edge web browser;  basic computer skills;  previous experience with video editing software is not necessary.
